Artists coming from all over the world and working in all disciplines are welcome to apply to Skowhegan. While we still keep the founding name “Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture,” we understand art in a multidisciplinary way.

We are particularly interested in emerging artists with a professional studio practice. Experimentation, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to collaborate and interact with peers are the main requirements.

Skowhegan’s application process is need-blind and socioeconomic status is not considered. This means that we can provide scholarships to all participants who require assistance to participate in the Program.

In order to qualify for financial aid, you must complete the financial assistance section at the time of application.
